FAT vs SKINNY
People can be so mean.
Well, I can be mean too. What could be the best reply next time...
"Oh hiiii. You've become uh, fat. I think you should EXERCISE."
"Oh hiiii. You've become fat. I think you should STOP EATING YOUR ASS OFF."
"H-hii----wtf. YOUR BOOBS ARE SUFFOCATING ME, BITCH. STOP EATING."

I really don't like it when people call their children nicknames like "pangga", "gagang" and "dodong" even when their children are now adults. It feels so wrong. What is the purpose of giving them beautiful first names? And these childhood nicknames doesn't even have anything to do with their real names. I don't know if the mediocrity of our culture has something to do with it.
Philippine culture here isn't really into individuality. Im talking about the masses, ok? I live with them. I get to see them jump with joy as they watch wowowee and worship Willie Revillame. I get to read tabloids and listen to them chat about the local showbiz gossip. The belief in superstition, the low-life culture, i get to experience it all.
What really amazes me are my poor neighbors. "Blessed are the poor"---my ass. They're just very lazy. They keep on making many children and they don't have jobs. They drink, they gamble, even have other women--wtf. And what is worst? They are tolerated for their way of life. And this lifestyle is passed on from one generation to the other. They blame it on poverty.
Poverty is to be blamed for. Corruption is to be blamed for. The government is to be blamed for. The president is to be blamed for. The system is to be blamed for blablablablab. Blame everyone except themselves.
We should not wait for the perfect president to change our nation. We should not wait for one man to get the majority of us from poverty. You see, one man cannot change a whole nation. If we want change, we should begin with ourselves. If we want our country to be better, we begin by being better citizens ourselves.
And being better citizens, I dont mean that you should be an activist or run for councilor. I mean it to be a better you. Simple things such as not littering our garbage anywhere, cleaning our surroundings and disposing trash properly. Imagine if that simple act is made by everyone. Can you imagine a very clean country? Imagine more if we do more simple acts. Imagine if every individual acts to be better and improve themselves instead of praying and waiting for God's blessings.
We don't have to do big things, we just need to constantly improve ourselves and show love and respect to our fellowman, our country, and most importanly, ourselves.
